Ferenc Tököli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Isăilă in the 10th minute of the match. Dorel Bolborici took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tivadar Demeter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romania's Dorel Bolborici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tivadar Demeter in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Isăilă came free, but Ferenc Tököli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorel Bolborici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Răzvan Ioanițiu made a precise shot to the right of Ferenc Tököli. Hungary's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The corner ended in Mátyás Zakariás almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Romania's Dorel Bolborici did a great save. Ferenc Tököli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Ioanițiu in the 32nd minute of play. Tivadar Demeter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorel Bolborici having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Isăilă in the 37th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Ferenc Tököli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milán Seres to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Isăilă might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ferenc Tököli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Isăilă ran back to his position shaking his head. Manuel Isăilă could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Ferenc Tököli made a huge save. Romania's Dorel Bolborici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rómeó Lukaku in the 54th minute of play. Ciprian Toma replaced Manuel Isăilă. After a rather tough play, Romania's Emanuel Mălăele got a free kick in the 70th minute. Romania's Dumitru Purcărete was substituted for Octav Blănaru. Romania's Ştefan Istrăteanu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Zsolt Székely in the 74 minute of the game. Dorel Bolborici didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from László Gácsi went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 81st minute László Gácsi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorel Bolborici saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 minutes Romania's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mátyás Zakariás who took care of the corner kick. 85 minutes into the game, Gigi Joanță threw the ball into play from the sideline. Hungary's Milán Seres quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Romania's goalkeeper Dorel Bolborici, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 94 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Zsolt Székely. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciprian Toma in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferenc Tököli saved Hungary from getting behind. 96 minutes in the game, Ciprian Toma dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hungary had won after a very even match.
