Edgar Tasso started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, MALAIA FDFDF's Valério Saraiva got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Celso Barral was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Otávio Arce. 4 minutes into the match, MALAIA FDFDF's goalkeeper Celso Barral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Recife. After some careless play in the S.E. Cachoeirinha defense, Adelino Freitas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Betão de Amaral. The S.E. Cachoeirinha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Betão de Amaral should have stopped the shot. 14 minutes into the game, Edgar Tasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Betão de Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Baltazar de Medeiros's late challenge caught a S.E. Cachoeirinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baltazar de Medeiros helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute, Baltazar de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Celso Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Arce in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to MALAIA FDFDF getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Edgar Tasso hit a great ball. A hard shot 26 in the game by Luiz Fabiano Prata from a close distance when the talented Celso Barral managed to make a qualified save. MALAIA FDFDF's players were relieved. The supporters of MALAIA FDFDF booed when S.E. Cachoeirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute Edgar Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betão de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otávio Arce in the 31st minute of play forced MALAIA FDFDF's goalkeeper Celso Barral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Betão de Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Edgar Tasso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Betão de Amaral. S.E. Cachoeirinha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgar Tasso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Edgar Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgar Tasso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Betão de Amaral having to make a save. Edgar Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Otávio Arce to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes MALAIA FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Baltazar de Medeiros. MALAIA FDFDF's Edgar Tasso managed to work through S.E. Cachoeirinha's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Edgar Tasso dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Betão de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar de Medeiros in the 57th minute of the match. After 64 played minutes MALAIA FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Tasso. Zé Pedro Torres hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Adelino Freitas was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 70 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in MALAIA FDFDF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! S.E. Cachoeirinha's Otávio Arce got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baltazar de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betão de Amaral having to interfere. Cachoeirinha's goalkeeper Betão de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MALAIA FDFDF played a much better game than S.E. Cachoeirinha and deserved their victory. The S.E. Cachoeirinha players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
