When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Freddy Cordarrell took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Edgar Trigo to make any attempt to save it. In the 18th minute, Freddy Cordarrell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgar Trigo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After having played for 23 minutes, Freddy Cordarrell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Club Mavericks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddy Cordarrell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sport Club Mavericks's Wiliam de Moraes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marcos Cruz in the 25 minute of the game. In the 26th minute, Sport Club Mavericks's Freddy Cordarrell ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edgar Trigo. Edgar Trigo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. Sport Club Mavericks's Fellipe Souto got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Freddy Cordarrell took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Edgar Trigo to make any attempt to save it. A hard shot 38 in the game by Freddy Cordarrell from a close distance when the talented Edgar Trigo managed to make a qualified save. Barrenta SC's players were relieved. Thomás Braga struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Xande Gay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barrenta SC. A sloppy throw-in by Marcos Cruz in the 41st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sport Club Mavericks's Wiliam de Moraes. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zézinho Lopez to strike the kick off in the second half. Claudemiro Fragoso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Trigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Zézinho Lopez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Trigo was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Barrenta SC's goalkeeper Edgar Trigo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Sport Club Mavericks booed when Barrenta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zézinho Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xande Gay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After 79 played minutes Barrenta SC got a freekick which was hit by Cido Miranda. Edgar Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudemiro Fragoso in the 80th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Cido Miranda in the 82nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sport Club Mavericks's Arnaldo Baiano. 85 minutes into the match, Barrenta SC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudemiro Fragoso came free, but Edgar Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sport Club Mavericks were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Barrenta SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnaldo Baiano took the corner. Edgar Trigo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudemiro Fragoso went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. Edgar Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudemiro Fragoso in the 95th minute of the match. The supporters of Sport Club Mavericks booed when Barrenta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney Carioca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barrenta SC's Edgar Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudemiro Fragoso in the 96th minute of play. In the 97th match minute, Barrenta SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cido Miranda to maneuver through the defense. Claudemiro Fragoso scored 9-0 in the 98th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgar Trigo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Sport Club Mavericks players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
