To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 11 minutes into the match, Jonsereds IF's goalkeeper Gil Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yngve Röd. When Edgar Lövgren fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jonsereds IF's protests and gave Edgar Lövgren a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th match minute, Jonsereds IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Hernström to maneuver through the defense. A long shot from Björn Strömberg in the 19th minute of play was well struck, but Gil Garcia made a really good save at the right post. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Brothers of Mercy's goalkeeper Nicklas Tidén, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Brothers of Mercy's goal looked a bit too open when Sixten Sjö came free, but Nicklas Tidén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicklas Tidén showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sixten Sjö in the 28th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Ronny Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicklas Tidén saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicklas Tidén showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronny Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonathan Ahlgren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
