Club 23's Gheorghe Iurea got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 6 minutes into the match, FC Lutanu's goalkeeper Ştefan Gârniceanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niculae Humă. The crowd rose to their feet as Club 23's Niculae Humă slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ştefan Gârniceanu. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sever Hreapcă during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Lutanu getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Sever Hreapcă hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, Club 23's goal looked a bit too open when Lucian Petriceanu came free, but Santa Gheorghe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ştefan Gârniceanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gheorghe Iurea went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucian Petriceanu in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santa Gheorghe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Aurel Enciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gheorghe Văcaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santa Gheorghe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Niculae Humă kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niculae Humă in the 33rd minute of play forced FC Lutanu's goalkeeper Ştefan Gârniceanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niculae Humă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Gârniceanu having to interfere. Ştefan Gârniceanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gheorghe Iurea in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the game, Iustin Angelescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club 23's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Lutanu the free kick. Iustin Angelescu hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, FC Lutanu's Aurel Enciu got a free kick in the 42nd minute. When Aurel Enciu came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the FC Lutanu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurel Enciu couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute, Club 23's Ivan Aliuta seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ivan Aliuta the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club 23 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ivan Aliuta had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Club 23:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Lutanu:s goal. The referee gave FC Lutanu a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ferdinand Gruia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club 23's Santa Gheorghe. 2-1.
The wind increased when Lucian Petriceanu made the kick off in the second half. Ştefan Gârniceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gheorghe Iurea in the 55th minute of play. Ştefan Gârniceanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gheorghe Iurea's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. In the 60th minute, Sever Hreapcă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 63 minutes, Martin Petruescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club 23's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Petruescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Iurea in the 64th minute of play forced FC Lutanu's goalkeeper Ştefan Gârniceanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th match minute, Club 23 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nae Isopescu to maneuver through the defense. Ştefan Gârniceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gheorghe Iurea in the 72nd minute of play. After 73 minutes of play, Club 23's Martin Petruescu made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ştefan Gârniceanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of FC Lutanu booed when Club 23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Petruescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Lucian Petriceanu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santa Gheorghe. That made the score 3-2 in the 80 minute of play. Ştefan Gârniceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gheorghe Iurea in the 85th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Club 23's zone, Lucian Petriceanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santa Gheorghe came out of the goal and Lucian Petriceanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, FC Lutanu's Sever Hreapcă got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Iustin Angelescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ştefan Gârniceanu having to make a save. With his leg Santa Gheorghe managed to avoid a goal in the 98thth minute, when FC Lutanu's Lucian Petriceanu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Sever Hreapcă was shown his second yellow card after 99 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 99 minutes into the game, one of FC Lutanu:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the referee blew the final whistle, Club 23 could leave the field as winners, despite FC Lutanu having more of the ball for most of the match.
