The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 16 minutes, Hans Ladd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans Ladd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 19 minutes, Bart Greenwood mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santos FC and the ALMA GUERREIRA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ALMA GUERREIRA booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart Greenwood didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Severo in the 20th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Jim Mitchell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulisses Vinhas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vito Mota to strike the kick off in the second half. Kris Marks charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. During the 88th minute of the match Bart Greenwood completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bart Greenwood a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Santos FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Bart Greenwood hit a great ball. Hans Ladd struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Ulisses Vinhas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos FC. Ulisses Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Burr, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the ALMA GUERREIRA players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Santos FC.
