Shayne Hess kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Val Randle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Inocencio Txaran came out and tried to block the shot, but Val Randle slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. In the 12th minute, Guaberto Restu made a precise shot to the right of Winford Taylor. New England Minas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Sixto Frederico hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Guaberto Restu's late challenge caught a New England Minas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guaberto Restu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Forever Tango's Guaberto Restu got a free kick in the 17th minute. The audience was convinced that Gaspar Bixintxo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Winford Taylor was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in New England Minas's zone, Severo Goren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Winford Taylor came out of the goal and Severo Goren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Forever Tango fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Forever Tango's Gaspar Bixintxo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. New England Minas's Winford Taylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaspar Bixintxo in the 42nd minute of play. Gaspar Bixintxo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 played minutes New England Minas got a freekick which was hit by Mario Hayes.

The supporters of New England Minas booed when Forever Tango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severo Goren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Winford Taylor was a little too slow when Severo Goren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 1-3. Forever Tango played a much better game than New England Minas and deserved their victory. The New England Minas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
