Spectators: 7523 (Terracing: 5643, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) Mountain West FC's Sammy Nixon started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roy Holman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otfried Mutke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Mountain West FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Leif Donaldson hit a great ball. After 12 played minutes Mountain West FC got a freekick which was hit by Eddy Sheehan. Mountain West FC's Roy Holman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Argina in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Mountain West FC's goal looked a bit too open when Willi Tilmann came free, but Roy Holman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Douglas Lundin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Argina in the 20th minute of play forced Mountain West FC's goalkeeper Roy Holman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roy Holman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Argina in the 25th minute of the match. Roy Holman came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Hannover Reds's Lars Voss. But to his dismay, Lars Voss quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 29thth minute of the game Sammy Nixon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hannover Reds's Bernd Yuschni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Mountain West FC's goal looked a bit too open when Willi Tilmann came free, but Roy Holman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute, Douglas Lundin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sammy Nixon got free with Bernd Yuschni in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 35th minute, Leif Donaldson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Hannover Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Reyna came free, but Bernd Yuschni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match Mountain West FC got a corner. Hannover Reds's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Van Walls ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Van Walls got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bernd Yuschni quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Mountain West FC defense, Lars Voss kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roy Holman. The Mountain West FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roy Holman should have stopped the shot. Montrel Belber lost his temper 44 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 44th match minute, Mountain West FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Montrel Belber to maneuver through the defense. After 45 played minutes, Hannover Reds's Otfried Mutke shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roy Holman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hannover Reds reached it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Roy Holman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Willi Tilmann in the 61st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilio Argina got free with Roy Holman in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Emilio Argina's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roy Holman was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. The attack was good, but when Emilio Argina in the 67th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Argina in the 71st minute of play forced Mountain West FC's goalkeeper Roy Holman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Willi Tilmann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hannover Reds fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 78th minute, Chris Reyna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mountain West FC made a substitution. Carson Fujieda replaced Angelo Dumas. After a rather tough play, Mountain West FC's Chris Reyna got a free kick in the 79th minute. A nice corner shot did that Otfried Mutke got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Roy Holman quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Roy Holman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emilio Argina went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Otfried Mutke got free with Roy Holman in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roy Holman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Argina, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Willi Tilmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roy Holman having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Argina in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roy Holman saved Mountain West FC from getting behind. Hannover Reds's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
