Alvaro Sforza ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristoforo Brillante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Truman Crockett in the 35th minute of play. Racing Miami Futbol Club were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after AC Roma's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rodney Hagen took the corner. The corner led Racing Miami Futbol Club's Rodney Hagen to fire away a dangerous shot which Cristoforo Brillante despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 39thth minute of the game Truman Crockett who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC Roma's Cristoforo Brillante was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jarrod Leary showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Di Rocco, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodney Hagen to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Alvaro Sforza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jarrod Leary. That made the score 1-4 in the 82 minute of play. Racing Miami Futbol Club made a substitution. Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson replaced Rodney Hagen. After some careless play in the Racing Miami Futbol Club defense, Camillo Pesce kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jarrod Leary. The Racing Miami Futbol Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jarrod Leary should have stopped the shot. If Camillo Pesce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chants of AC Roma echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Racing Miami Futbol Club had held the ball for most of the match.
