Maxwell Tyler took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Desmond Flint. Desmond Flint dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Maxwell Tyler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Springfield FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Maxwell Tyler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Desmond Flint breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dexter Jernigan in the 15th minute of play forced New Iberia AFC's goalkeeper Desmond Flint to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Chuck Lay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dexter Jernigan fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Springfield FC's protests and gave Dexter Jernigan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Springfield FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Dexter Jernigan hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Springfield FC's zone, Ethan Fair stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wallace Page came out of the goal and Ethan Fair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Springfield FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Cyrus Davies hit a great ball. If Maxwell Tyler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Houston Bowles didn't quite understand what happened when in the 44 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After 47 minutes of play New Iberia AFC's Warren Akins was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Merrill Reagan made a kick off. Merrill Reagan scored 1-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wallace Page, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dexter Jernigan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Desmond Flint read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chuck Lay during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Chuck Lay kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Chuck Lay got his second yellow card in the match during the 73rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind New Iberia AFC's goalkeeper Desmond Flint, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. New Iberia AFC's Desmond Flint proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save New Iberia AFC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 80 minutes, Maxwell Tyler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Springfield FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maxwell Tyler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Merrill Reagan kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute Maxwell Tyler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Desmond Flint saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dexter Jernigan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Desmond Flint made a huge save. Maxwell Tyler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Desmond Flint tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
