Spectators: 10851 (Terracing: 8139, Seating: 2495, VIP seats: 217) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Xosé Bacquet started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, C. A Chipa y Terere's goalkeeper Pavel Janko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmund Lidberg. A collision led to C. A Chipa y Terere getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Cortez Beloki hit a great ball. Pavel Janko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Gora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Olimpia were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after C. A Chipa y Terere's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Denis Inestrosa took the corner. Club Olimpia's Nelson Haedo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pavel Janko in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Roque Gora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 14 played minutes Club Olimpia got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Haedo. 17 minutes into the match, C. A Chipa y Terere's goal looked a bit too open when Roque Gora came free, but Pavel Janko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jaume Navaes charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaume Navaes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th match minute, C. A Chipa y Terere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaume Navaes to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Club Olimpia's Nelson Haedo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Pavel Janko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmund Lidberg in the 23rd minute. Edmund Lidberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pavel Janko read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. With a little luck, C. A Chipa y Terere's Pavel Janko got control of the ball when Edmund Lidberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edmund Lidberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pavel Janko having to make a save. 46 minutes into the match, C. A Chipa y Terere's goal looked a bit too open when Roque Gora came free, but Pavel Janko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Club Olimpia booed when C. A Chipa y Terere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaume Navaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nelson Haedo to make the kick off. Pavel Janko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Haedo in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute Roque Gora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavel Janko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredo Aguilar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xosé Bacquet in the 59th minute of the match. After 60 minutes, Nelson Haedo made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. C. A Chipa y Terere's Pavel Janko tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Roque Gora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nelson Haedo scored 3-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pavel Janko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Club Olimpia made a substitution. Roberto Bueldi replaced Denis Inestrosa. The supporters of C. A Chipa y Terere booed when Club Olimpia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustino Ortle didn't get a good kick on the ball. C. A Chipa y Terere's Diego Roldan was substituted for Jaume Navaes. In the 76th match minute, Club Olimpia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustino Ortle to maneuver through the defense. When Roy Holm fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A Chipa y Terere's protests and gave Roy Holm a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th match minute, C. A Chipa y Terere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roy Holm to maneuver through the defense. C. A Chipa y Terere's Pavel Janko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Bueldi in the 90th minute of play.
