Bahia City's Keilor Navas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Bahia City from getting a goal against them. Keilor Navas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ediberto Falcão in the 6th minute of the match. After some careless play in the LaCity defense, Adilson Novaes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Décio Tróia. The LaCity fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Décio Tróia should have stopped the shot. LaCity's Décio Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adilson Novaes in the 15th minute of play. In the 19th minute, José Tepedino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Décio Tróia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Adilson Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Tróia having to interfere. After 22 minutes, Geovani Loyola mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bahia City and the LaCity players grew even worse after the yellow card. Célio Nunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ricardo Freitas fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bahia City's protests and gave Ricardo Freitas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute, Ricardo Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Harry Kaptein got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Bahia City's goal looked a bit too open when Célio Nunes came free, but Keilor Navas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Eriberto de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the LaCity fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eriberto de Souza couldn't finish the play. Rui Cunha hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 39th match minute, LaCity was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Kaptein to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Célio Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. LaCity's supporters rose to their feet, but Célio Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keilor Navas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Adilson Novaes made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, LaCity was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Kaptein to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, Bahia City's Donato Bezerra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Décio Tróia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 58 played minutes Bahia City got a freekick which was hit by Geovani Loyola. Keilor Navas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Nunes in the 59th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eriberto de Souza in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Keilor Navas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The LaCity fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when LaCity's Eriberto de Souza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. LaCity's Décio Tróia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save LaCity from getting a goal against them. In the 71st minute, Eriberto de Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. LaCity's Leonel Dracena was substituted for Ian Torres. 76 minutes into the match, Bahia City's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto de Souza came free, but Keilor Navas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eriberto de Souza in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keilor Navas saved Bahia City from getting behind. Keilor Navas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Célio Nunes's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Nunes in the 94th minute of play forced Bahia City's goalkeeper Keilor Navas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The LaCity supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bahia City's performance. The match ended with a win for Bahia City.
