The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Arnaldo Basajaun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Haji Sarap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Basajaun in the 7th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Joinville City - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Basajaun came free, but Haji Sarap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The throw-in from Sebahattin Üsküplü in the 18th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Joinville City - FSCMZ's Tomás Reis. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Sebahattin Üsküplü quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tomás Reis, made in the 24th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnaldo Basajaun in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Haji Sarap saved Joinville City - FSCMZ from getting behind. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Haji Sarap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Basajaun in the 29th minute of play. When Geovanildo Luis came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Joinville City - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovanildo Luis couldn't finish the play. Haji Sarap didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arnaldo Basajaun went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Haji Sarap came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Arnaldo Basajaun. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Basajaun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Mariusz Komornicki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanildo Luis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Geovanildo Luis made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Joinville City - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Basajaun came free, but Haji Sarap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute Ronaldinho Gaucho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariusz Komornicki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haji Sarap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo Basajaun in the 55th minute of the match. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's attentive Walmyr Falcão managed to snatch the ball when Tomás Reis made a throw-in in the 61st minute of the game. 65 minutes into the match, Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaldo Basajaun. After having played for 74 minutes, Arnaldo Basajaun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Basajaun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Cássio de Andrade was substituted for João Francisco Arce. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Horácio Abraão was substituted for Ronaldinho Gaucho. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE made a substitution. Tadeu Carneiro replaced Evandro Senna. When Joinville City - FSCMZ's Horácio Abraão, in the 86th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Joinville City - FSCMZ. In the 91st minute Walmyr Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haji Sarap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's zone, Horácio Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mariusz Komornicki came out of the goal and Horácio Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Haji Sarap was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Walmyr Loyola capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Walmyr Loyola really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. After some careless play in the Joinville City - FSCMZ defense, Walmyr Loyola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haji Sarap. The Joinville City - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haji Sarap should have stopped the shot. The CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
