Miguel Dorio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santo Gabrio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Naelio in the 20th minute of play forced Tinajeros's goalkeeper Ovidio Izel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 played minutes Tinajeros got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Austin. Placido Gartxot hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Tinajeros's Ovidio Izel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Tinajeros from getting a goal against them. Ovidio Izel was a little too slow when Severo Naelio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 28th minute Severo Naelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Izel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the CHAU MZ defense, Dimitris Mazarakis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santo Gabrio. The CHAU MZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santo Gabrio should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, CHAU MZ's Marcial Matthew got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Miguel Jatsu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santo Gabrio having to interfere.

Tinajeros's Robustiano Quirce got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lorenzo Austin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 57 minutes, Robustiano Quirce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tinajeros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robustiano Quirce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tinajeros's Ovidio Izel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Naelio in the 60th minute of play. After 62 minutes Tinajeros's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sixto Pancho who took care of the corner kick. After a defensive mix-up in CHAU MZ's zone, Robustiano Quirce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santo Gabrio came out of the goal and Robustiano Quirce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robustiano Quirce might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santo Gabrio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robustiano Quirce ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, CHAU MZ's Santo Gabrio got control of the ball when Placido Gartxot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santo Gabrio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Jatsu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Robustiano Quirce's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santo Gabrio was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. If Placido Gartxot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santo Gabrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Placido Gartxot, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Ignacio Prejun lost his temper 86 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 85 minutes into the game, one of Tinajeros:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Sixto Pancho shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After 92 played minutes Tinajeros got a freekick which was hit by Placido Gartxot. Ovidio Izel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Onofre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tinajeros's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
