Santiago Mele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnino Rubio in the 9th minute of play. In the 13th minute of the match Club Atletico Rio Tercero got a corner. Sportivo O´connor's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jacobo Mark ran over to the corner to take the kick. Santiago Mele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Aresti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Sportivo O´connor defense, Alejandro Jerrald kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santiago Mele. The Sportivo O´connor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santiago Mele should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Simon Santa María had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alvar Öberg. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Simon Santa María was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Santiago Mele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacobo Mark in the 24th minute of play. Santiago Mele didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacobo Mark went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Club Atletico Rio Tercero booed when Sportivo O´connor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rosendo Eutor didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Alejandro Jerrald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Mele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sportivo O´connor's Eustaquio Rolado got a free kick in the 30th minute. Jacobo Mark fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Mele having to interfere. The supporters of Club Atletico Rio Tercero booed when Sportivo O´connor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustaquio Rolado didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Sportivo O´connor's goal looked a bit too open when Jacobo Mark came free, but Santiago Mele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Jerrald in the 42nd minute of play forced Sportivo O´connor's goalkeeper Santiago Mele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Alejandro Jerrald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Mele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jacobo Mark in the 44th minute. A nice corner shot did that Jacobo Mark got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Santiago Mele quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Jacobo Mark was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Santiago Mele in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Sportivo O´connor players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Club Atletico Rio Tercero were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simon Santa María to make the kick off. Santiago Mele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacobo Mark in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to Sportivo O´connor getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Teobaldo Normando hit a great ball. If Ernesto Maurin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teobaldo Normando charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teobaldo Normando the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee gave Club Atletico Rio Tercero a penalty, 76 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jacobo Mark, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sportivo O´connor's Santiago Mele. 1-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacobo Mark in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Mele prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 80 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Rio Tercero's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Maurin came free, but Alvar Öberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvar Öberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustaquio Rolado, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. The corner ended in Eustaquio Rolado almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Atletico Rio Tercero's Alvar Öberg did a great save. Alvar Öberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Maurin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute of the match Aristides Gaxan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alvar Öberg skillfully saved the ball. Aristides Gaxan might have been able to make a better finish in the 99th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvar Öberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aristides Gaxan ran back to his position shaking his head. The Club Atletico Rio Tercero supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Atletico Rio Tercero would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
