Academia FC's Godfredo Santxol managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Roberto Bieito in the 35 minute of the game. 36 minutes into the game, Academia FC's Carlos Alberto Tevez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Aurelio Soin took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Julián Valla to make any attempt to save it. Academia FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alvaro Iraitz in the 75th minute. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Academia FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
