In the 7th minute Ben Bontein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timothy McLachlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Eyemouth FC defense, Ben Bontein kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timothy McLachlan. The Eyemouth FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timothy McLachlan should have stopped the shot. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Eyemouth FC! In the 27th match minute, Eyemouth FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Gorrie to maneuver through the defense. Darius McCodrum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lewis McAdam, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Dominic Neilson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Darius McCodrum having to make a save. Lewis McAdam was extremely unlucky when he, in the 46th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Lewis McAdam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miles McFarquhar was the one to do the kick off. Darius McCodrum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lewis McAdam in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Dominic Neilson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miles McFarquhar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 67 minutes, Hamish Mark mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eyemouth FC and the Ventnor players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Eyemouth FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Hamish Mark hit a great ball. Miles McFarquhar kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. If Dominic Neilson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ben Bontein took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Timothy McLachlan. Timothy McLachlan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Darius McCodrum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jake Gorrie, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 89 played minutes Ventnor got a freekick which was hit by Shaun Frissell. If Lewis McAdam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ventnor eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
