Povratnici's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Danijel Petrlin scored to the left of an out of position Višeslav Berend, making the score, 1-0. Višeslav Berend didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 7th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. 12 minutes in the game Rueben Hughes did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Neven Prohaska. The throw-in from Rueben Hughes in the 14th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Maksimir's Fabijan Čavlović. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Povratnici's goalkeeper Višeslav Berend, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Danijel Petrlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Višeslav Berend tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Danijel Petrlin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Višeslav Berend. That made the score 3-0 in the 18 minute of play. Maksimir's attentive Fabijan Čavlović managed to snatch the ball when Romeo Vrhovec made a throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game. Maksimir's attentive Jorge Seixas managed to snatch the ball when Neven Prohaska made a throw-in in the 27th minute of the game. Višeslav Berend was a little too slow when Danijel Petrlin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 5-0. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Povratnici's goalkeeper Višeslav Berend, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Pavao Nemet came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Povratnici fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pavao Nemet couldn't finish the play. Rueben Hughes made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Maksimir's Fabijan Čavlović. If Danijel Petrlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 44 minutes into the match, Povratnici's goalkeeper Višeslav Berend had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Danijel Petrlin. Višeslav Berend was a little too slow when Danijel Petrlin got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 6-0.

The wind increased when Danijel Petrlin made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Povratnici defense, Danijel Petrlin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Višeslav Berend. The Povratnici fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Višeslav Berend should have stopped the shot. After 58 minutes of play, Maksimir's Danijel Petrlin made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Višeslav Berend was left in no man's land by his defense there! Maksimir's Mauro Jurišić was substituted for Billie Denijs. In the 66th minute, Adrijan Grbović ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Višeslav Berend was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Maksimir's Fabijan Čavlović managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rueben Hughes in the 75 minute of the game. Višeslav Berend showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrijan Grbović, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 91 minutes into the game, Rueben Hughes threw the ball into play from the sideline. Maksimir's Fabijan Čavlović quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rueben Hughes made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Maksimir's Fabijan Čavlović. Maksimir were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Povratnici for a fine match.
