Jerom Smoors showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Bermudez, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Weverton van Beek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trevor Eubank went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 16 minutes into the match, Trevor Eubank notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Liernu's Weverton van Beek. Weverton van Beek was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd minute, Steven Puttemans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SK Mons fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Jerom Smoors took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louis Snyers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Steven Puttemans struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Weverton van Beek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SK Mons. Steven Puttemans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Weverton van Beek having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Louis Snyers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liernu's supporters rose to their feet, but Louis Snyers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerom Smoors breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Weverton van Beek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Steven Puttemans in the 39th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Steven Puttemans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Mons's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steven Puttemans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SK Mons's Mattias Theijs was substituted for Bogumil Czapski. The SK Mons fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when SK Mons's Trevor Eubank looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. SK Mons made a substitution. SK Mons's Jerom Smoors proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save SK Mons from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Louis Snyers got free with Jerom Smoors in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
