An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Dobay in the 5th minute of play forced Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's goalkeeper Lyle Coppack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Carpathians's Leontin Ţurcaş got a free kick in the 9th minute. Lyle Coppack showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Dobay in the 11th minute of the match. The supporters of Carpathians booed when Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anacleto Geofredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stefan Dobay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lyle Coppack having to interfere. Lyle Coppack made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Dobay in the 25th minute of play. Matei Răducu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Mei in the 27th minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's Carlos Mei dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. With a little luck, Carpathians's Matei Răducu got control of the ball when Carlos Mei tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anacleto Geofredo made in the 43rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ferdinand Zmărăndache however managed to control. Carpathians's Matei Răducu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Carpathians from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stefan Dobay stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Stefan Dobay took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Lyle Coppack to make any attempt to save it. Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely's Adrián-Daniel Dobre was substituted for Ediberto de Queirós. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihăiţă Stolniceanu in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matei Răducu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edward Bartoszek kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Erdélyi SE Marosvásárhely made a substitution. Eusebiu Ipătescu replaced Carlos Mei. In the 85th minute, Edward Bartoszek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorel Pipirig shot a long shot in the 86th minute and a light blocked Lyle Coppack hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-2. In the 91st minute Stefan Dobay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lyle Coppack saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Carpathians had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
