Spectators: 9266 (Terracing: 6951, Seating: 2131, VIP seats: 184) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stefan Dobay started the match with the kick off. 2 minutes into the match, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Luca Pancu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matei Răducu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 3rd minute F.C CLUJ MEDICINA were awarded a corner. Silviu Latarețu went to the cornerflag to take it. Matei Răducu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silviu Latarețu, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Iacob Povară made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Alin Nichitelea sent off a good shot on target. Matei Răducu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silviu Latarețu in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute Stefan Dobay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Povară saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th match minute, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iulian Nicorici to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute Stefan Dobay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Povară saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iacob Povară came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Carpathians's Stefan Dobay. But to his dismay, Stefan Dobay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Matei Răducu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silviu Latarețu in the 24th minute of play. Matei Răducu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iosif Găman in the 27th minute of the match. Iacob Povară made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Dobay in the 29th minute of play. Ilie Danciu made in the 31st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Carpathians's Leontin Ţurcaş. Iacob Povară came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Carpathians's Stefan Dobay. But to his dismay, Stefan Dobay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Sorin Cupșa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Matei Răducu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sorin Cupșa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Silviu Latarețu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matei Răducu was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silviu Latarețu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carpathians's Matei Răducu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Pancu in the 54th minute of play. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Silviu Latarețu in the 55th minute. A nice corner shot did that Silviu Latarețu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Matei Răducu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Iacob Povară took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Dobay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silviu Latarețu in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matei Răducu saved Carpathians from getting behind. With an all-out effort, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Matei Răducu threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Silviu Latarețu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Iosif Găman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Matei Răducu made a huge save. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA made a substitution. Gheorghe Bociort replaced Silviu Latarețu. F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Francisc Ciocoiu was substituted for Iosif Găman. Carpathians's Remus Piacente was substituted for Laurențiu Iurea. Carpathians's Cazimir Feteanu was substituted for Dave Signoretti. A collision led to Carpathians getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Dave Signoretti hit a great ball. With a little luck, Carpathians's Matei Răducu got control of the ball when Gheorghe Bociort tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorel Pipirig in the 88th minute of play forced F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's goalkeeper Iacob Povară to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iacob Povară showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorel Pipirig, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Francisc Ciocoiu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Matei Răducu. That made the score 3-3 in the 94 minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
