In the 6th minute, Romeo Gherghescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 8 minutes MIT Craiova's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Codruț Uncheşu who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Codruț Uncheşu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Calistrat Madgearu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, MIT Craiova's Calistrat Madgearu got control of the ball when William Rigg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tristan Falco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tristan Falco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Nicodim Orășan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. MIT Craiova's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mihăiţă Ilarie in the 22nd minute. The corner led MIT Craiova's Mihăiţă Ilarie to fire away a dangerous shot which Tristan Falco despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Valar's Tristan Falco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicodim Orășan in the 25th minute of play. Ivan Vâtcă hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. William Rigg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Calistrat Madgearu made a huge save. Tristan Falco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Tristan Falco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihăiţă Ilarie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. William Rigg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Calistrat Madgearu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicodim Orășan made a kick off. With a little luck, The Valar's Tristan Falco got control of the ball when Nicodim Orășan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicodim Orășan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tristan Falco came out and tried to block the shot, but Nicodim Orășan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 52nd minute. 57 minutes into the match, Dorin Banu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tristan Falco, 1-3. Calistrat Madgearu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Hajto, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute of the match The Valar got a corner. MIT Craiova's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Codruț Uncheşu ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on The Valar's corner Codruț Uncheşu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Calistrat Madgearu quite easily take care of the ball. In the 63rd minute Mihăiţă Ilarie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tristan Falco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Valar's Tristan Falco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save The Valar from getting a goal against them. The Valar's Codruț Uncheşu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Radu Sărăroiu in the 75 minute of the game. MIT Craiova's Bogdan Bucataru was substituted for Mihăiţă Ilarie. In the 81st minute Alfred Hajto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Valar's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Tiberiu Caramarin scored to the left of an out of position Tristan Falco, making the score, 1-4. MIT Craiova's Fabian Geantă was substituted for Florin Seremet. A throw-in in the 87th minute of the game was made by Radu Sărăroiu with Fabian Geantă as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. MIT Craiova's Calistrat Madgearu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred Hajto in the 90th minute of play.
