The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Kai Havertz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Iason Kazantzidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norbert Kosowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Higinio Osasun got free with Iason Kazantzidis in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cihan Yüksel charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cihan Yüksel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd minute, Cihan Yüksel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kai Havertz struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Mehmet Edip Nazmi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bozkurt. In the 87th minute of the match Bozkurt got a corner. Fenerbahce ISTANBUL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Philippe Albert ran over to the corner to take the kick. Bozkurt's Kai Havertz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mehmet Edip Nazmi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 89 minutes Fenerbahce ISTANBUL's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Philippe Albert who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Poyraz Çavuş heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Mehmet Edip Nazmi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marcell Jacobs showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 92 minute of play. Iason Kazantzidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Higinio Osasun in the 96th minute of the match.
