In the 3rd minute Merlin Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Jermaine Richmond managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when New England Minas's Tony Pacheco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. New England Minas's attack was well implemented in the 5th minute, but when Tony Pacheco was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Sung McKinley hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Tony Pacheco's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jermaine Richmond firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 11 played minutes Khachatryan got a freekick which was hit by Sung McKinley. In the 12th match minute, Khachatryan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hu Wei Shu to maneuver through the defense. New England Minas's Glen Conklin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 13th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jermaine Richmond but with some difficulty. In the 14th minute of the match, Edgardo Silva tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jermaine Richmond saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hu Wei Shu in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hu Wei Shu in the 24th minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Khachatryan's goalkeeper Jermaine Richmond, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tony Pacheco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Jermaine Richmond made a huge save. New England Minas were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Khachatryan's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Glen Conklin took the corner. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jermaine Richmond prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Merlin Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After the first half Khachatryan were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Merlin Castro made a kick off. Jermaine Richmond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Pacheco in the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Pacheco in the 58th minute of play forced Khachatryan's goalkeeper Jermaine Richmond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albert Paulíny could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Jeremy Nicholas made a huge save. 62 minutes into the match, Khachatryan's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Pacheco came free, but Jermaine Richmond reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Khachatryan's Jermaine Richmond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tio Lio in the 86th minute of play. In the 86th minute Tio Lio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jermaine Richmond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Pacheco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Richmond having to interfere. Jermaine Richmond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tio Lio in the 89th minute of the match. After 91 played minutes New England Minas got a freekick which was hit by Emmitt Benson. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Khachatryan eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
