New England Minas's attentive Alperen Öksüz managed to snatch the ball when Tarcisio Valle made a throw-in in the 7th minute of the game. Tony Pacheco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aloísio Donato in the 14th minute of play. After 17 minutes, Tarcisio Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CE LAJEADENSE RS and the New England Minas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, CE LAJEADENSE RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tarcisio Valle to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 18 minutes, Jörgen Frohm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New England Minas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jörgen Frohm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tony Pacheco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Adam Doykin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aloísio Donato in the 21st minute of play. Caetano Saad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 29 played minutes CE LAJEADENSE RS got a freekick which was hit by Tarcisio Valle. Adam Doykin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tio Lio's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aloísio Donato in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeremy Nicholas saved New England Minas from getting behind. 37 minutes into the match, Tio Lio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Adam Doykin, 1-0. Adam Doykin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tio Lio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adam Doykin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tio Lio, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

52 minutes into the match, New England Minas's Tio Lio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adam Doykin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tarcisio Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. New England Minas made a substitution. Emmitt Benson replaced Alperen Öksüz. New England Minas made a substitution. In the 63rd minute of the game Gildo Cearense made a throw-in which Anísio Koehler played forward. In the 65th minute Gildo Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Doykin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Silva in the 77th minute of play. Edgardo Silva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adam Doykin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Tarcisio Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match.
