Joakim Glad ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gösta Lundberg scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marian Topolski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, Purple Shadows's Mike Cassar Torreggiani threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Milosz Kowalski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Örjan Johansson's late challenge caught a Purple Shadows's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Syppli got free with Mike Cassar Torreggiani in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mike Cassar Torreggiani made an important save on a dangerous shot by Igor Syppli in the 24th minute. Blåvitt's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joakim Glad in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The supporters of Blåvitt booed when Purple Shadows was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball.
