Robertinho Lewandowski started the match with the kick off. Guaberto Lidon hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in MILLONARIOS FC's zone, Guaberto Lidon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilkka Markkula came out of the goal and Guaberto Lidon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Matai Melena fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored United FC's protests and gave Matai Melena a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of MILLONARIOS FC booed when United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matai Melena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uhin Encina charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Uhin Encina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th match minute, MILLONARIOS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uhin Encina to maneuver through the defense. Ilkka Markkula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uriel Ribeiro in the 20th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Uriel Ribeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The United FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of United FC booed when MILLONARIOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uhin Encina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robertinho Lewandowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ilkka Markkula read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Uriel Ribeiro took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ilkka Markkula. Ilkka Markkula dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Fabien Barthez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Corredor's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. With an all-out effort, MILLONARIOS FC's Fabien Barthez threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fernado Sisalde, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 40thth minute of the game Juan Corredor who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but United FC's Fabien Barthez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fabien Barthez made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Juan Corredor sent off a good shot on target. Uriel Ribeiro hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Fabien Barthez acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 48th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Uhin Encina.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan Corredor to make the kick off. Fabien Barthez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Corredor, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Corredor in the 70th minute of play. In the 75th minute Fernado Sisalde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute, Juan Corredor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabien Barthez was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Matai Melena made in the 89th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Edwin Smith immediately put the ball in play. Robertinho Lewandowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Ilkka Markkula made a huge save. 95 minutes into the match, United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernado Sisalde came free, but Fabien Barthez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
