After a rather tough play, Xeneize FC's Napoleon Laws got a free kick in the 12th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damian Gagne during the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Little Elm FC's zone, Caleb Abel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stephen Freeman came out of the goal and Caleb Abel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute, one of Little Elm FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Little Elm FC. When the match had been going on for 25 minutes, Xeneize FC's Heriberto Messer got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Stephen Freeman. In the 29th minute Caleb Abel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephen Freeman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Little Elm FC's Stephen Freeman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caleb Abel in the 31st minute of play. After 34 played minutes Little Elm FC got a freekick which was hit by Archie Lacy. After having played for 38 minutes, Abe Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Little Elm FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abe Medina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Abe Medina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Abe Medina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bob Roach was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Caleb Abel to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Rodney Caudill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephen Freeman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jude Harvey fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xeneize FC's protests and gave Jude Harvey a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Xeneize FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Jude Harvey hit a great ball. In the 56th minute Abe Medina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Roach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Xeneize FC's Caleb Abel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stephen Freeman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abe Medina in the 64th minute of play forced Xeneize FC's goalkeeper Bob Roach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Bob Roach managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Little Elm FC's Abe Medina fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abe Medina in the 67th minute of play forced Xeneize FC's goalkeeper Bob Roach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Abe Medina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Little Elm FC booed when Xeneize FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dale Lester didn't get a good kick on the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 85 minutes of play, Little Elm FC's Abe Medina made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bob Roach was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Abe Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Little Elm FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abe Medina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bob Roach breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abe Medina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Roach having to interfere. The Little Elm FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Little Elm FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
