Feet preference filter option for transfer market searches

I would like to see an additional filter option for the transfer market, to be able to filter what foot preference a player has. It is sometimes a pain to scroll through many players; looking for a player who can use both feet or a player for a specific role.

I imagine it would be very simple to add, Foot preference: left right both

What foot a player uses is meaningless. Same as weight and height. Ignore them completely.

Are you sure of this? Why then is it that when reading a games review and events it sometimes may say that a player received the pass on their off foot and/or that the player shoots with their off foot and misses? When adjusting a players position according to his preferred foot I have found that he may score more and perform better and that the off foot messages to not occur.

so either you have missed or overlooked that part or I have not tested it enough, though many games played the testing still stands true that my players seem to perform better when I arrange them accordingly (there is a secret to this I think which can be known if you have played the game in real life at a high level though I won't speak of it here)

If my testing is correct and it is true that is does have an impact (which would make sense otherwise the messages won't say that they failed because of their off foot, there would be no need for those messages) so if the testing is correct then I have noticed that most people put their players in the wrong possitions.

so yes this feature would be nice to have, thanks.

text match reports are irrelevant to what really happens in the simulated match
they are simple sentences chosen randomly (classified according to certain actions, ie. "free kick" text for free kicks, "shooting" text when a shot happens etc etc)

all the "flavor" you read is because the language assistant that helped with the translation/enrichment of those texts was having a good time at the moment he was doing his work

it's a trick played by your mind (and trust me, we've all been there)
no match is always the same, even if you have the same players and tactics (for both teams)

stop reading text reports and watch more matches on analyzer or 2d, you will eventually see for yourself that what scruttino said is true

I've done both I always watch the games and read the reports and it's not my mind, the evidence is there but if it's highly random then its a chance that on the many times of testing that it dealt me situations that made it appear so in a very unique and random way(i'm well aware of this possibility). I'd take the line here of "Nullius in Verba" (Take noones word for it) and find out for myself, it is always the most intelligent line of thinking if the whole world did this with everything (religion, climate statements, what the media tells them or popular opinion of the other sheep) there would never be a problem and there would never be the mass brainwashing that exists and we would have a race of genius'. I would rather hear a programmer or employee clarify this, for you too may be the one who has had their mind playing tricks on them and following the commoner opinion of others, who knows I may be wrong. I have only tested for 1 season.
You also need to take in account that many people who "test" the aspect of right/ left and both foot probably test it incorrectly and put all their right foot players on the right and left foot players on the left when it should be the opposite (accept for the wingers).
(P.S and please don't try to tell me about the mind and tricks and perception, I know about that subject better than anyone, observing the stupidity of humans, frustrated until they can understand at least half of what I do about reality. Always feeling 1000 years ahead)

My short statement is not based solely on personal knowledge, but 100's if not 1000's of people who have played this game across the course of time. You can continue to find this out for yourself, that's your own choice, but my own opinion is that you'd be wasting your time.

The sim runs by reasonably simple rules. Such as a pass and aerial pass, is a just considered to be a pass and the length of that pass does not change how difficult that pass is to make. Which makes passing in the air (Wings) much more effective because 1) their are no defenders in the air so the ball can travel further without opposition, 2) heading is not equivalent to tackling for defender in the air, and 3) you generate better shots on goal because your strikers aren't trying to run over the goalkeeper.

Also, at the gathering of legends a few years back now 8-9 managers got to meet the crew in Sweden in person. Very direct questions were asked, some of which were does height, weight, foot or who you select as team captain mean anything, the answer was no. They could in the future when a new sim is developed, but that is a very long way off at least 5 years away, if not 10 years, assuming the game survives that long.

I get the feeling crew need an influx in funding to develop a new sim. They have numerous note on what such a sim would need, ie. Through Balls, 360 degree player movement, the ability to spread the ball sideways to an open teammate (not just forwards and backwards play), these type of improvements would vastly elevate gameplay and allow players to become more individual representations of their skills, and physical attributes such as height, weight and foot. But for now we have to accept very gradual (some might say tortoise speed) minor improvements to the sim that already exists.

I don't have any definitive 100% correct answer regarding the truth on foot, height and weight. Every one swears they are cosmetic...and I think Crew confirmed that at one time but I can't find that post...too long ago.

Myself I ignore it...one time we had an inquiry thread on who had the tallest and fattest player...there were some extremely heavy players.lol

Just for humor you might want to read this thread on seeking answers. Quiet funny.

Ok thanks for your feedback guys that is more helpful, I am surprised that the choice of captain doesn't matter as it would make sense that a more experienced loyal player would be a better captain than a non experienced player that was just bought off the transfer market. It wouldn't surprise me if there are hidden "easter eggs" to find that can unlock a type of "advantage" or programming inconsistencies to which one is able to use in their favor that noone has found yet (wings being a similar idea but there could be something better). Though I don't want to make any assumptions about anything, the answers to the questions of life are best found through first hand experience.
Perhaps reading up on algorithms for random number generators would be a good place to look, but i'm sure if it was taken too far it would break the privacy agreement and fair play, many games use these techniques to add randomness though at the heart of it may be a predictable algorithm that can be exploited through specific combinations of setup. And besides as was said in the thread you had linked dowopado that if we knew all the answers it would take the fun out of the game.
Thanks again

it's ironic, as that kind of happened to me in real life.

@riviniok

I helped translate the game (also the match reports) in greek back in late 2002. I doubt that they had changed the way match text reports are generated. So trust me that what you read is completely random flavor

Also the phrase "your mind plays tricks on you" was not meant as a derogatory remark. Apologies if it sounded like that

as for having a programmer giving you an answer... well...good luck with that :)

ps. you might get an answer for foot/height/weight but nothing else that will help you "crack" the SIM (and this is how it should be)
