After 3 played minutes U21 Cyprus got a freekick which was hit by Stavros Arvanitoyannis. 14 minutes into the match, U21 Cyprus's goal looked a bit too open when 郑洋城 came free, but Stelios Argitakos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 郑洋城 might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stelios Argitakos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. 郑洋城 ran back to his position shaking his head. Stelios Argitakos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 郑洋城, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 18th match minute, U21 Cyprus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dihnekis Roussos to maneuver through the defense. U21 China's 徐飞国 proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save U21 China from getting a goal against them. Stelios Argitakos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 高明斐, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 徐飞国 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Makhaon Paloumbas, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Aigisthos Tyrovolas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Briarios Katsourinis's late challenge caught a U21 China's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Briarios Katsourinis helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of U21 China booed when U21 Cyprus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Briarios Katsourinis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stelios Argitakos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 郑洋城, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Stelios Argitakos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 郑洋城 in the 40th minute of play. Makhaon Paloumbas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, U21 Cyprus's Palaimon Touchakis got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 44 played minutes U21 Cyprus got a freekick which was hit by Nassos Papadakos. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 曲星明 was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, 曲星明 took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Stelios Argitakos to make any attempt to save it. 郑洋城 in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Stelios Argitakos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. U21 China's Gu Bing Zheng managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Stavros Arvanitoyannis in the 61 minute of the game. Palaimon Touchakis hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute, 郑洋城 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. U21 Cyprus made a substitution. Akheloos Sousanis replaced Dihnekis Roussos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Akheloos Sousanis in the 71st minute of play forced U21 China's goalkeeper 徐飞国 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stelios Argitakos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Deng Chen Sang in the 76th minute. Deng Chen Sang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stelios Argitakos having to interfere. Deng Chen Sang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Deng Chen Sang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Stelios Argitakos made a huge save. 石永骋 made a great header on U21 China's corner, it was just that U21 Cyprus's Stelios Argitakos managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 87th minute, Deng Chen Sang left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 China fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. If Deng Chen Sang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stelios Argitakos came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 China's Deng Chen Sang. But to his dismay, Deng Chen Sang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The U21 Cyprus supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 China's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 China.
