Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Amos Serafini kicked off to start the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexander Zollino in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cesar Batres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexander Zollino took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cesar Batres. Cesar Batres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Gennaro Arena made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Misael Cerna sent off a good shot on target. Cesar Batres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Zollino in the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th minute Italy were awarded a corner. Attilio Giammaria went to the cornerflag to take it. Attilio Giammaria made a great header on Italy's corner, it was just that Guatemala's Cesar Batres managed to reach the ball for a save. 19 minutes into the game, Italy's Alexander Zollino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesar Batres made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Zollino in the 21st minute of play forced Guatemala's goalkeeper Cesar Batres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cesar Batres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Zollino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guatemala's Cesar Batres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Attilio Giammaria in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Guatemala's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Zollino came free, but Cesar Batres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexander Zollino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cesar Batres read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. After 35 minutes Guatemala's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Attilio Giammaria who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Guatemala's goalie and right to Beppe Nicolo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Guatemala's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Cesar Batres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Zollino in the 38th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amos Serafini in the 39th minute of play forced Guatemala's goalkeeper Cesar Batres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guatemala's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Patricio Umanzor in the 49th minute. The corner ended in Patricio Umanzor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Italy's Gennaro Arena did a great save. The Guatemala players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Italy were winning 0-3.
The wind increased when Oscar Rey made the kick off in the second half. Alexander Zollino took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cesar Batres. Cesar Batres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 57th minute of the match, Amos Serafini got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cesar Batres was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The Italy fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Italy's Alexander Zollino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Guatemala's Rene Villacorta was substituted for Gabriel Espindola. When Italy's Alexander Zollino in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guatemala's goalie prevented a goal. Cesar Batres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexander Zollino's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. When Benjamín Costas fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guatemala's protests and gave Benjamín Costas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Guatemala getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Benjamín Costas hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Alexander Zollino notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Guatemala's Cesar Batres. Cesar Batres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Zollino in the 79th minute of play forced Guatemala's goalkeeper Cesar Batres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fedele Belfiore hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Italy's Amedeo Costacurta was substituted for Amedeo Ciapponi. Italy's Yada Daa was substituted for Amos Serafini. Italy made a substitution. Mattia Destro replaced Beppe Nicolo. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexander Zollino in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cesar Batres saved Guatemala from getting behind. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Guatemala:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Italy:s goal. Cesar Batres made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Alexander Zollino sent off a good shot on target. After 99 minutes Guatemala's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Attilio Giammaria who took care of the corner kick. Italy's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
