Rudy Beattie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gennaro Arena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Italy's zone, Boyde Minne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gennaro Arena came out of the goal and Boyde Minne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 25 minutes Italy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Belton Fordham who took care of the corner kick. In the 27th minute of the game Fabio Albertini made a throw-in which Damiano Bontempi played forward. Australia's Bjorn Coleman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Zollino in the 29th minute of play. Australia's Roger Miller managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fabio Albertini in the 32 minute of the game. If Rudy Beattie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyde Minne in the 35th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Gennaro Arena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. In the 85thth minute of the game Remy Bundy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Italy's Gennaro Arena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A nice corner shot did that Keefe Shorten got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gennaro Arena quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Bjorn Coleman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 94 minutes into the match, Remy Bundy notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Italy's Gennaro Arena. Gennaro Arena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Italy's Gennaro Arena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remy Bundy in the 98th minute of play. Many of Italy's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Italy may have spent more time on the ball, but Australia were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
