Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) After having played for 3 minutes, Pane Minuva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Finland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pane Minuva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 5th minute, Mika Mustonen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Finland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 8 minutes Guatemala's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sampsa Kaltiainen who took care of the corner kick. Raimo Leinonen made a great header on Finland's corner, it was just that Guatemala's Will Henriquez managed to reach the ball for a save. Will Henriquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mato Valtonen in the 10th minute of the match. Will Henriquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pane Minuva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Guatemala's goal looked a bit too open when Pane Minuva came free, but Will Henriquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Will Henriquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mika Mustonen in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Mika Mustonen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Will Henriquez. Guatemala's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mika Mustonen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Will Henriquez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mato Valtonen's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Mato Valtonen put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Will Henriquez. In the 36th minute, Pane Minuva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Will Henriquez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Will Henriquez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pane Minuva went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 45th minute, Teijo Peltonen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th minute, Gabriel Espindola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Finland were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriel Espindola made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Finland's Pane Minuva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Will Henriquez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Anaya in the 54th minute of play forced Finland's goalkeeper Jarkko Tikkanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Gabriel Espindola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarkko Tikkanen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Guatemala's Gabriel Espindola to fire away a dangerous shot which Jarkko Tikkanen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Guatemala's goalkeeper Will Henriquez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pane Minuva. Will Henriquez made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Pane Minuva sent off a good shot on target. 61 minutes into the match, Guatemala's goal looked a bit too open when Mato Valtonen came free, but Will Henriquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guatemala's Christian Corrales quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Teijo Peltonen, made in the 63rd minute of the game. Pane Minuva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Will Henriquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pane Minuva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute Mato Valtonen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Will Henriquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mika Mustonen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Will Henriquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Will Henriquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pane Minuva, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute of the match, Pane Minuva got a very nice opportunity to score, but Will Henriquez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jarkko Tikkanen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Espindola in the 88th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Mika Mustonen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Finland's supporters rose to their feet, but Mika Mustonen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Will Henriquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the match, Guatemala's goalkeeper Will Henriquez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eljas Kirjonen. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Finland eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
