When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Gerry Franco took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Ruben Sánchez to make any attempt to save it. Boyd Winkler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Palermo in the 23rd minute of the match. Magic is Back's Orlando Medina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Aldo Singleton, made in the 29th minute of the game. Sebastián Battaglia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 36 played minutes Pueblo FC got a freekick which was hit by Shelton Clifton. Boyd Winkler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. In the 96th minute of the match, Rubén-Darío Feldmann got a very nice opportunity to score, but Boyd Winkler was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Pueblo FC fully deserved thier win.
