Inter de Guayaquil FC's Lorenzo Acutain managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Wilfredo Mero in the 24 minute of the game. Jörn Svartengren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baron Buffon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Sebastian Hellkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuralp Başdemir, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jörn Svartengren in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baron Buffon saved Los Muñes de Don Cuco from getting behind. Aureliano Cordeiro made a great header on Los Muñes de Don Cuco's corner, it was just that Inter de Guayaquil FC's Sebastian Hellkvist managed to reach the ball for a save. Wilfredo Mero helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Los Muñes de Don Cuco getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Wilfredo Mero hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, Los Muñes de Don Cuco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilfredo Mero to maneuver through the defense.
