An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Florian in the 3rd minute of play forced AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Štefan Semeno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12thth minute of the game Tomáš Požgaj who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vaqueteros FC's Javier Tono was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. AFK Petržalka's Štefan Semeno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Florian in the 14th minute of play. Štefan Semeno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fikret Uluğ in the 19th minute of the match. Javier Tono made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomáš Požgaj in the 20th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Vaqueteros FC's goalkeeper Javier Tono had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomáš Požgaj. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Igor Bališ got a free kick in the 28th minute. After some careless play in the AFK Petržalka defense, Alexandru Stroescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Štefan Semeno. The AFK Petržalka fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Štefan Semeno should have stopped the shot. 32 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Florian came free, but Štefan Semeno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes AFK Petržalka's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Venancio Victoro who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Angelo Haitz heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Javier Tono didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomáš Požgaj went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When Vaqueteros FC's Alexandru Stroescu in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AFK Petržalka's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fikret Uluğ during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vaqueteros FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Peter Pekarík was slow to take the kick. During this time AFK Petržalka's players had a chance to rest. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fikret Uluğ stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Balázs Borbély fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Tono having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Tomáš Požgaj notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Vaqueteros FC's Javier Tono. Javier Tono was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tosun Paşa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bartolo Argina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Štefan Semeno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute of the match Vaqueteros FC got a corner. AFK Petržalka's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Venancio Victoro ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 67th minute Tomáš Požgaj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Tono saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AFK Petržalka's Tomáš Požgaj got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Vaqueteros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomáš Požgaj came free, but Javier Tono reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomáš Požgaj sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's goal looked a bit too open when Tosun Paşa came free, but Štefan Semeno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute of the match, Bartolo Argina got a very nice opportunity to score, but Štefan Semeno was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
