After a defensive mix-up in CRUZ DEL SUR's zone, Agustín Palacios stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amato Heyboer came out of the goal and Agustín Palacios tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th match minute, CRUZ DEL SUR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Manuel Guilisasti to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Cruz hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Inocente Luna's late challenge caught a CRUZ DEL SUR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inocente Luna helped the player get up and apologised. After 23 played minutes Altermundi FC got a freekick which was hit by Inocente Luna. In the 28th minute, Pedro Alcázar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blanco Larreta hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. CRUZ DEL SUR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rollo Duguid came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by CRUZ DEL SUR's Belmiro Peñaranda. But to his dismay, Belmiro Peñaranda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Alcázar made a kick off. Rollo Duguid took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paco Cabedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 played minutes Altermundi FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabricio Peragallo. An unexpectedly hard shot by J.P. Cruz in the 63rd minute of play forced Altermundi FC's goalkeeper Rollo Duguid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabricio Peragallo hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Amato Heyboer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Alcázar in the 83rd minute of play. J.P. Cruz was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 83 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute there was a penalty for Altermundi FC. Alberto Tassara stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amato Heyboer. 1-3. The supporters of Altermundi FC booed when CRUZ DEL SUR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristeo Oquendo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Alberto Tassara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Altermundi FC's Pedro Alcázar got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The CRUZ DEL SUR supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CRUZ DEL SUR would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
