Jose José made in the 6th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by U21 Angola's Nuno Viegas. After 16 played minutes U21 Angola got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Gonçalves. With a little luck, U21 Angola's Custódio Teive got control of the ball when Brock Friend tried to sneak it across the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, U21 Angola's goal looked a bit too open when Brock Friend came free, but Custódio Teive reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Godinho in the 30th minute of play forced U21 United States's goalkeeper Levon Sarkisyan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shane Smiley in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Custódio Teive saved U21 Angola from getting behind. After a rather tough play, U21 Angola's Nuno Viegas got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Custódio Teive made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Brock Friend sent off a good shot on target. In the 37th match minute, U21 United States was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose José to maneuver through the defense. Denver Lund charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denver Lund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Denver Lund hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, U21 United States's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Ezequiel Niz came free, but Levon Sarkisyan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Custódio Teive was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Jonah Ryan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jonah Ryan really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. After 45 minutes, Camilo Pegacho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Angola and the U21 United States players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Toni Godinho to strike the kick off in the second half. Custódio Teive came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 United States's Shane Smiley. But to his dismay, Shane Smiley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 60th minute, Carlos Caneças hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Custódio Teive took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonah Ryan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Smiley in the 64th minute of play forced U21 Angola's goalkeeper Custódio Teive to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Carlos Caneças shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Levon Sarkisyan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute Brock Friend shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Custódio Teive saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of U21 United States booed when U21 Angola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toni Godinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Custódio Teive showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shane Smiley in the 88th minute of the match. Carlos Caneças kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Levon Sarkisyan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Gonçalves in the 93rd minute of play. Shane Smiley kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. U21 United States had played much better football throughout.
