In the 14th minute Alfred Addison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inge Marin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 15 minutes, Ademir Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. OLIMPIA SP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ademir Donatello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Marcinho de Toledo could shoot a difficult shot in the 22nd minute, which Aurel Mușetescu however easily saved by the left post. The audience was convinced that Doriva Jacinto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Inge Marin was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Samuca Travassos hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Excelência de Luxe's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Aurel Mușetescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uwe Reimann in the 42nd minute. Fernando Gomes took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurel Mușetescu. Aurel Mușetescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. When Uwe Reimann fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcinho de Toledo made a kick off. Excelência de Luxe made a substitution. Ademar Damião replaced Alfred Addison. Excelência de Luxe's Eliézer Cavalcante was substituted for Washington de Andrade. When Uwe Reimann came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the OLIMPIA SP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uwe Reimann couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Excelência de Luxe's Eliézer Cavalcante got a free kick in the 71st minute. Excelência de Luxe's Aurel Mușetescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Gomes in the 73rd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Fernando Gomes made a precise shot to the right of Aurel Mușetescu. Excelência de Luxe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The OLIMPIA SP fans cheered their team off the field, for while Excelência de Luxe had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
