In the 9th minute Geoff Hurst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Szczepan Wawrukiewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by James Meza during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Szczepan Wawrukiewicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Burgess, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 29 played minutes Real Madrid de America got a freekick which was hit by Leonard Burgess. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanislaw Lodowy in the 32nd minute of play forced Real Madrid de America's goalkeeper Elijah Harding to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elijah Harding showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fryderyk Malicki, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Geoff Hurst took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Szczepan Wawrukiewicz. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stanislaw Lodowy to make the kick off. A nice corner shot did that Owen Cabourne got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Szczepan Wawrukiewicz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Szczepan Wawrukiewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoff Hurst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Szczepan Wawrukiewicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wiley Boles went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Elijah Harding tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes in the game, Geoff Hurst dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After 70 minutes, Leonard Burgess mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Madrid de America and the Ave Silesia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leonard Burgess hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ave Silesia's Stasio Duda tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the game, Geoff Hurst was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Madrid de America's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ave Silesia the free kick. After some careless play in the Ave Silesia defense, Wiley Boles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Szczepan Wawrukiewicz. The Ave Silesia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Szczepan Wawrukiewicz should have stopped the shot. When Geoff Hurst came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Real Madrid de America fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geoff Hurst couldn't finish the play. A nice corner shot did that Geoff Hurst got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Szczepan Wawrukiewicz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Real Madrid de America's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
