Virgilio Rocendo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Quintal in the 18th minute of play forced Volvio Moreno's goalkeeper Virgilio Rocendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Monumento Sports getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Fernando Vieira hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Monumento Sports's Kosta Kent got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Rodolfo Abalos took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Moisés Antunes. Moisés Antunes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 32 minutes into the match, Monumento Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Niceto Erruki came free, but Moisés Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Desiderio Ermengol during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 38 played minutes Volvio Moreno got a freekick which was hit by Desiderio Ermengol. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Gernando Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Monumento Sports fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodolfo Abalos to make the kick off. Wilfredo Lleir hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Quintal in the 55th minute of play forced Volvio Moreno's goalkeeper Virgilio Rocendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Monumento Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Abalos came free, but Moisés Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gernando Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgilio Rocendo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Flávio da Fonseca was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Fiko Violento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moisés Antunes came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Volvio Moreno's Rodolfo Abalos. But to his dismay, Rodolfo Abalos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Virgilio Rocendo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gernando Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gernando Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Rocendo having to interfere. Moisés Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Abalos in the 80th minute of the match. Kosta Kent's late challenge caught a Volvio Moreno's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kosta Kent helped the player get up and apologised. Kosta Kent kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The supporters of Volvio Moreno booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matias Checa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Moisés Antunes. Monumento Sports's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Albertinho de Andrade charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albertinho de Andrade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Albertinho de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gernando Quintal was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 87th minute. Monumento Sports's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Vitinho Dionísio kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Volvio Moreno fans cheered their team off the field, for while Monumento Sports had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
