In the 12th match minute, Sorci Viola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Liberti to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Sorci Viola's Cristiano Cicchetti got a free kick in the 18th minute. A collision led to Sorci Viola getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Felice Tozzi hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Arturo Liberti notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of AC LeX Luthor's Thibaut Courtois. Thibaut Courtois was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. AC LeX Luthor's Thibaut Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beppe Zoff in the 38th minute of play. Eugenio Petrosino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Thibaut Courtois tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Beppe Zoff managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sorci Viola's supporters rose to their feet, but Beppe Zoff was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thibaut Courtois breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amerigo Toninelli kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Arturo Liberti might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thibaut Courtois. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arturo Liberti ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 56th minute, Arturo Liberti fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Thibaut Courtois, passed just outside the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Beppe Zoff got free with Thibaut Courtois in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Flavio Scatena was extremely unlucky when he, in the 59th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 70 minutes into the game, Eliseo Tiniebra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC LeX Luthor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sorci Viola the free kick. The supporters of Sorci Viola booed when AC LeX Luthor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Tiniebra didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Beppe Zoff got free with Thibaut Courtois in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thibaut Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Liberti, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. With a little luck, AC LeX Luthor's Thibaut Courtois got control of the ball when Beppe Zoff tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in AC LeX Luthor's zone, Amerigo Toninelli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thibaut Courtois came out of the goal and Amerigo Toninelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Beppe Zoff got free with Thibaut Courtois in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Beppe Zoff hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Arturo Liberti managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the final whistle sounded Sorci Viola left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AC LeX Luthor.
