The tension between the La Pointe Courte and the AC Pitt Bier players grew even worse after the yellow card. During the 94th minute of the match Jelle Wiersma completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jelle Wiersma a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The audience was convinced that Pierre-Antoine Mariette's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Niels Rensenbrink was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. AC Pitt Bier had won after a very even match.
