If Justino Gotzon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Gotzon in the 35th minute of play. Paulo Gilen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Rivera having to interfere. A collision led to FC Pepe Burrón getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Elizardo Moyua hit a great ball. Aquiles Omero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Orlando Rivera. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half.
