Primitivo Fernanco was a little too slow when Mihăiţă Ilarie got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. Mihăiţă Ilarie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Primitivo Fernanco having to make a save. In the 26th minute of the match Boca Juniors got a corner. MIT Craiova's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Orlando Lluques ran over to the corner to take the kick. Orlando Lluques made a great header on Boca Juniors's corner, it was just that MIT Craiova's Calistrat Madgearu managed to reach the ball for a save. Primitivo Fernanco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 28th minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Tiberiu Caramarin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MIT Craiova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiberiu Caramarin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Primitivo Fernanco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorin Banu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Alfredo Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute Ladislao Bertran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Caramarin came free, but Primitivo Fernanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Tiberiu Caramarin made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Alfredo Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Primitivo Fernanco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 53rd minute of play. In the 61st minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Primitivo Fernanco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, MIT Craiova's Calistrat Madgearu got control of the ball when Dinei Corrêa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Ladislao Bertran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Boca Juniors's Dudan Parengkuan was substituted for Dinei Corrêa. Boca Juniors's Marcin Mietus was substituted for Pepito Santalla. In the 66th minute, Jonathan-Matias Romero made a precise shot to the right of Calistrat Madgearu. MIT Craiova's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Primitivo Fernanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorin Banu, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 74 minutes into the match, MIT Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan-Matias Romero came free, but Calistrat Madgearu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Dorin Banu came free, but Primitivo Fernanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan-Matias Romero in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Calistrat Madgearu saved MIT Craiova from getting behind. With an all-out effort, Boca Juniors's Calistrat Madgearu threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jonathan-Matias Romero, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Primitivo Fernanco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 85th minute of the match. Primitivo Fernanco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiberiu Caramarin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Dorin Banu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Primitivo Fernanco. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Primitivo Fernanco should have stopped the shot. MIT Craiova's Bogdan Bucataru was substituted for Florin Seremet.
