David Bemabe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynaldo Tino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute of the match Joga Bonito got a corner. Swindon Sweden FF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. David Bemabe ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Swindon Sweden FF getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. John Åberg hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match, David Bemabe got a very nice opportunity to score, but Reynaldo Tino was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Swindon Sweden FF's Marcus Östman got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joga Bonito's Johnny Ba Loua got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Alejo Eleazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joga Bonito's Artur Boruc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Östman in the 24th minute of play. Matthias Salkvist's late challenge caught a Joga Bonito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthias Salkvist helped the player get up and apologised. Joga Bonito's David Bemabe got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Artur Boruc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcus Östman's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After 34 minutes of play, Swindon Sweden FF's Brian Falck made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Artur Boruc was left in no man's land by his defense there! Filiberto Sauca kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Reynaldo Tino made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Alejo Eleazar sent off a good shot on target. Marcus Östman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Artur Boruc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Bemabe to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Alejo Eleazar put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Reynaldo Tino. If Alejo Eleazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
