Iván Luis Zamorano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Gavino Orlan made a huge save. Iván Luis Zamorano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gavino Orlan came out and tried to block the shot, but Iván Luis Zamorano slotted it home off the left post making it 7-0 in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

The ★ᴇꜱᴛᴜᴅɪᴀɴᴛᴇꜱ ᴅᴇ ʟᴀ ᴘʟᴀᴛᴀ★ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gavino Orlan should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in ★ᴇꜱᴛᴜᴅɪᴀɴᴛᴇꜱ ᴅᴇ ʟᴀ ᴘʟᴀᴛᴀ★'s zone, Samuel Abel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gavino Orlan came out of the goal and Samuel Abel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ★ᴇꜱᴛᴜᴅɪᴀɴᴛᴇꜱ ᴅᴇ ʟᴀ ᴘʟᴀᴛᴀ★'s Gavino Orlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ofelio Galván in the 74th minute of play. In the 79th minute Samuel Abel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gavino Orlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermengildo Bertol hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match.
