Zadornin Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Karl-Åke Brummer made a huge save. 47 minutes into the game, Delmar Campello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VILLARREAL UNITED's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lanzenkirchen the free kick. After a rather tough play, VILLARREAL UNITED's Alonzo Egun got a free kick in the 50th minute. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentin Voicu to make the kick off. Carles Olle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sören Bergmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. VILLARREAL UNITED's Sven-Olof Ståhlberg was substituted for Hustaz Quijana. Lanzenkirchen's Karl-Åke Brummer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Voicu in the 68th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Nofre Madariaga managed to get in a good position for a shot. VILLARREAL UNITED's supporters rose to their feet, but Nofre Madariaga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karl-Åke Brummer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 77 minutes, Valentin Voicu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VILLARREAL UNITED's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Voicu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Holger Häfeli took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carles Olle. VILLARREAL UNITED's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Victorio Demesio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Åke Brummer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Voicu, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Voicu in the 92nd minute of play forced Lanzenkirchen's goalkeeper Karl-Åke Brummer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The VILLARREAL UNITED fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lanzenkirchen had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
