The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lin Yan Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angel Alvarenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Les Tigres's Lin Yan Hong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 13th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Sven-Edvin Jansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GuateFortín fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 20th minute of play forced Les Tigres's goalkeeper Lin Yan Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Cerritos kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Nery Pumpido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonardo Tipi in the 23rd minute. A sloppy throw-in by Claudio Cerritos in the 29th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Les Tigres's Grzegorz Sokolski. After 36 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Cerritos. Lin Yan Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Máximo Perrone, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute.

Les Tigres made a substitution. Edvard Võsandi replaced Mauro Abel. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Máximo Perrone stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nery Pumpido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Tipi in the 56th minute of play. Edvard Võsandi scored 1-2 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nery Pumpido, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nery Pumpido was left in no man's land by his defense there! 87 minutes into the match, Les Tigres's goal looked a bit too open when Máximo Perrone came free, but Lin Yan Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Les Tigres's Lin Yan Hong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Les Tigres from getting a goal against them.
