Spectators: 51 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tio Lio took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience was convinced that Tio Lio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeremias Moreno was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Bierhoff in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Wágner Leme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th minute Wágner Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute ADM Taquaras were awarded a corner. Malcolm Westerberg went to the cornerflag to take it. ADM Taquaras's Malcolm Westerberg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jeremy Nicholas in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 20th minute, Tio Lio made a precise shot to the right of Jeremias Moreno. ADM Taquaras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Oliver Bierhoff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeremy Nicholas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Jeremy Nicholas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oliver Bierhoff went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 39th minute of the match ADM Taquaras got a corner. New England Minas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Malcolm Westerberg ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to ADM Taquaras's Leon Oinaz getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oliver Bierhoff in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremy Nicholas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 45 minutes of play, ADM Taquaras's Oliver Bierhoff made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jeremy Nicholas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oliver Bierhoff to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes New England Minas got a freekick which was hit by Roman Major. New England Minas's Hipolito Emenon was substituted for Jörgen Frohm. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by New England Minas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Malcolm Westerberg was slow to take the kick. During this time ADM Taquaras's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Malcolm Westerberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jeremy Nicholas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to New England Minas getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Roman Major hit a great ball. ADM Taquaras's Enio Aparecido was substituted for Oliver Bierhoff. Roman Major kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Nildo Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Edgardo Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New England Minas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgardo Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Áron Bódog who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Jeremy Nicholas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A well done corner resulted in Enio Aparecido drilling the ball in to score 1-4 behind New England Minas's goalkeeper. In the 81st minute, Enio Aparecido left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ADM Taquaras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Áron Bódog, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 86thth minute of the game Enio Aparecido who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edgardo Silva struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Jeremias Moreno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New England Minas. New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enio Aparecido in the 90th minute of play. The ADM Taquaras supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ADM Taquaras would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
